Day 1 - Arrival and a Toy Repair

Dear Santa,

I have arrived at house number JD11235813 to observe the boy named "Jack". I wrote a letter explaining the reason for my arrival, and managed to finish it just before the boy saw me. According to his case file, he's too young to read a whole letter, but his mother is quite literate, and could tell him what the letter said.

When "Jack" discovered me, I found him to be quite inquisitive. He wanted to know how I arrived, and how I got in the house. He interrogated me to no end. Fortunately, the boy's mother and father were able to field most of those questions for me.

A few minutes later, as "Jack" picked up some of his toys, he looked sad. He found a Duplo fire ladder (part number 10981891324719A) with a missing base. I felt bad for him and wanted to help. So, while he went potty and brushed his teeth, I located the other piece using my Building-Block-Part-Tracker, and put it back together. I wanted to put the repaired toy back in its place where it belonged, but the boy discovered me too quick. That turned out to be a good thing, though, because he realized I fixed his toy. I feel I have earned a bit of "street cred" with this kid.

On a closing note, I found "Jack" to be well behaved. He ate all his dinner, and played nicely with the family dog, and practiced proper hygiene. He went to bed on time without complaint. Overall, this kid earned an A.

Happy twenty four days until the best Christmas ever,
Trixie the elf
